Richard Arnold has promised Manchester United are doing 'everything possible' to sign Frenkie de Jong this summer. United's CEO Arnold was speaking to a group of United supporters in his local pub in Chesire as he surprised them there before they were set to protest the Glazers' ownership of the club outside his house.
Arnold spoke openly on several talks regarding the club and talk inevitably turned to the club's slow start in the transfer market.
Despite the massive rebuild that's needed at Old Trafford in order to give new manager Erik ten Hag the best chance of success, United are yet to make a signing while the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham have already strengthened considerably.
It's understood that Ten Hag has identified De Jong as his ideal midfield signing and the perfect player to help implement his style of play on the pitch. "Money is not a consideration on who we want," Arnold said in a video posted to Twitter by user @MufcWonItAll. "The manager wants him (De Jong) and they have actually done the work.
