A man who stabbed his housemate to death in a 'ferocious attack' has been jailed for life. Frank Wrona, 44, murdered Richard Chamberlain, 34, at their home in Colne, Lancashire, on March 31.

Police were called to the scene in New Market Street shortly after 2.25pm. When officers arrived at the property, Wrona was still in his bedroom and was shouting: “Come in here and I’ll slice you up.” He told officers that Richard “had deserved it”, claiming that the victim had stolen some money from him. Wrona, of New Market Street, Colne, was arrested at the scene and later charged with Richard’s murder. Tests showed he had taken significant amounts of cocaine and alcohol before he carried out the fatal attack.

Wrona pleaded guilty to murder at a hearing back in July. Sentencing Wrona at Preston Crown Court today (Monday), Judge Robert Altham ordered him to serve a minimum of 16 years and 79 days before he is considered for parole.
