Most fridges and freezers have lines at the bottom of them, but do you know what they are used for? A social media post that went viral with more than 15,000 likes and 10,000 retweets may have offered an answer to the mystery of the lines.
The tweet which started the thread asked "SERIOUS QUESTION!! How old were you when you found out the lines at the bottom of the freezer was made to stand meat trays up?" However, many were quick to point out that the information was incorrect, and the lines actually serve another purpose, the Mirror reports.
Others, however, saw the potential use and found it helpful, with one saying: "We've been adulting wrong."Another joked: "Don’t let my momma see this she’ll make me reorganise the freezer."Those who knew the proper use of the lines weren't so convinced by the hit tweet, with one saying: "Doubt it - more like air circulation so your stuff doesn't stick to the bottom.""It is," a second agreed. "My dad was a white goods mechanic, it's what he always said.
It's for cold circulation." According to an expert at Appliances Online who spoke to News.com.au, it is in fact used for circulation.
