A man has been ordered to pay £6,000 for breaching lockdown conditions - by visiting the hairdressers.Gareth Le Monnier, 37, flouted self-isolation rules to visit a Toni&Guy hair salon earlier this month.Le Monnier broke the rules as he arrived on Guernsey from his home in Jersey to see his wife on July 3.This meant that he was subject to a mandatory 14 day self isolation and customs officers told him on arrival he was bound under the Emergency Powers Law to self isolate until one minute past midnight on July 17.However, two days before the end of the isolation period, Le Monnier visited the hair salon and also made trips to a Waitrose café, Guernsey Magistrates Court heard.He was caught out when a welfare check was made at his registered.
