Jake Brown was carrying out renovations on his new Georgian home in Plymouth when he drilled into a wall and made a surprising discovery.

As he investigated the void between the house he found old paint cans and old newspapers which had turned into a pulp but which revealed the tunnel had been blocked up for at least five decades.
