Macklin Motors starts big jobs drive for Toyota dealerships

MAJOR Scottish car retailer Macklin Motors has launched the first phase of a significant recruitment drive after being awarded the Toyota franchise in the west of the country.It has drawn up plans to attract colleagues as it develops four sites to cover the extensive area, with the first site due to open in Glasgow at the start of next month.Macklin Motors Toyota Glasgow will be the first showroom to recruit and it is looking to take on about 30 new colleagues.The team will include technicians, sales advisers, and a certified management accountant.The new dealership, which houses the world’s best-selling car manufacturer, which is also a leader in the electrification of the global automotive sector, will offer a full range of new and used Toyota models.This will include the all-new Yaris Cross and Aygo X, the iconic Hilux and the extensive range of Toyota hybrid electric vehicles.Robert Forrester, boss of Macklin Motors parent company Vertu Motors, said: “This is an exciting period of growth as we expand our representation in Scotland.“As we drive our operations forward, in partnership with the distinguished Toyota brand, the next step is to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic team of colleagues that have the skills and dedication, across a range of roles, to deliver excellent service to our customers.”The new Toyota Glasgow dealership Kennishead Road, Darnley, in the south side of Glasgow, was formerly a Macklin Motors Motornation dealership.
