Teenager Luke Littler has captivated the nation with his darts expertise - and his surprising age. The youngster set Alexandra Palace alight in recent days and just missed out on becoming the youngest-ever world champion.

The 16-year-old's dream ended in a defeat to 28-year-old Luke Humphries, who took the title home with a 7-4 victory. But Luke is hopeful about the future and has big plans ahead of him, the Mirror reports.After coming runner-up and sealing the £200,000 prize, he is confident he will go on to become a champion.

He said: I have won six games here so why can't I go and win seven here in years to come? I have gained a lot of experience and stage experience, I am in the top 32 now so I could be in everything."The past three to four weeks have been unbelievable and now I just can't wait to go home.
