Fans of Love Island were left in stitches as the Islanders divided into teams and took part in a Sports Day challenge which saw them divide into two teams and compete.

As they relaxed in the garden, a text pinged through which read: "Islanders, Limber up and get your sweatbands on, as today the Villa will go head to head in sports day! #EggAndSpooning #LetTheGamesBegin." The blue team and red team took part in a series of challenges, such as racing on bounce hoppers and, of course, an egg and spoon race, in a challenge that soon got very competitive. The show's viewers flooded Twitter with their amusement at the sports day banter, which was giving "year six vibes".

One person tweeted: "This is the first time sports day has ever been this funny man why are they lined up like they’ve won the champions league." Another said: "The sports day is so funny great to see them all having a laugh #loveisland," as a third wrote: "Am i the only one who found that sports day funny?" A fourth tweeted: "Funny how competitive they get when they do the sports day challenge #loveisland." What started out as fun and games soon turned a little sour as the competition het up and Islanders threw around accusations of cheating.

One example was of Ron Hall claiming that Casey O'Gorman actually held the egg during the egg and spoon race, as he said: "I'm blind in one eye and I still saw it!" The Red Team, captained by Will Young, seemed to be playing it dirty but were eventually crowned the winners.
