Latest coronavirus infection rates for every borough in Greater Manchester as numbers rise in four areas

Coronavirus infection rates have risen in four boroughs of Greater Manchester, but numbers are falling elsewhere. Cases increased in Trafford, Salford, Bury and Stockport in the week ending April 23.

Yet Manchester continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester. The city recorded a rate of 45.9 cases per 100,000 people, according to the latest data from Public Health England.

The lowest infection rate is in Wigan, where the rate is 23.7 cases per 100,000 people. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 35.2 cases per 100,000 population.
