Emer O’Neill won over audiences on Friday’s night’s Late Late Show when she opened about her own experience of racial abuse.

The RTÉ Home School Hub teacher spoke to Ryan Tubridy about the slew of racism she received after she spoke publicly about her experiences following the tragic death of George Floyd.

Emer said she was initially ‘very nervous’ to speak out about her own story having had ‘bad feedback’ when she did in the past. ‘People say that I’m ‘pulling the race card’ or ‘just get over it we all have our crosses to bear,’ so I learned quite early in life to just keep those things to myself,’ she admitted.
