Loch Lomond have launched a bid to buy the “magical hideaway” and relaunch it as an eco-retreat. Elise Wilkes-Brand’s family was the last to spend time on uninhabited Inchconnachan, famous for its colony of wallabies, which has just gone on the market for £500,000.
Dad Tony rented the beauty spot from 1995-1998 and worked there as a warden, providing his children with “idyllic” holidays when they were off school.
Now the trio of siblings have launched a fundraising campaign to purchase the island for community use which is sensitive to the local environment, and halt wealthy private buyers swooping in.
