A Carluke man has been locked up after a campaign of abuse towards his partner that lasted more than a year.Anthony Rooney throttled the woman and on another occasion bent her wrist backwards.Rooney, of Unitas Crescent, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

She countered by saying he "had family responsibilities and couldn't just walk away when he felt like it".Rooney then grabbed his partner by the throat and squeezed so hard she couldn't speak before pushing her on to a bed.The assault was witnessed by her mum and, a month later, it was her turn to be the victim when Rooney shoved her to the floor and punched her on the face and head.She
