By Tom Tapp Deputy Managing Editor Coronavirus deaths in Los Angeles County crossed a grim milestone on Thursday, breaching the 2,000 threshold.

That, as the number of COVID-related deaths in the U.S. nears 100,000. Dr. Barbara Ferrer, Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said, however, that the data show stay-at-home and other COVID precautions are slowing the spread of the virus.
