Reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian has faced intense backlash on Instagram after posting a series of photos in Hawaii that were deemed 'insensitive' following fires on the island.

In a carousel of holiday snaps, including one where she cradles her baby bump, Kourtney captioned them: "The ocean calms the fire in me." Other images that the 44-year-old snapped showed a landscape view of the ocean, her and Travis Barker snuggled up together in the sun, and multiple palm trees.

However, fans were not best impressed with her choice of caption while Hawaii battles devastating wildfires.Thousands of residents have been forced to leave their homes, with many people missing and over 50 dead, as the wildfires blaze through the state. "That's a really inappropriate caption, jeez," one wrote, while another said, "I wonder if you all have thought about the people of Maui?" A third commenter echoed these thoughts too: "She did not mean it but still she should have known better than to write this caption.

It is really insensitive. And it is even more insensitive to not change it..." However, one fan of Kourtney's believed the post actually included a hidden code about what Kourtney and Travis' baby would be called, with one suggesting, "They are naming the baby ocean, calling it now." This theory follows the Blink-182 drummer revealing a certain baby name he had his eye on - but was very quickly shut down by daughter Alabama.
