KATE Garraway fought back tears as she hugged a hero Covid nurse on today's Good Morning Britain. Beth Dixon cared for both Kate's husband Derek and best-selling author Michael Rosen, who were seriously ill with the virus.

Michael was a guest on today's GMB and was treated to a surprise meeting with the Great Ormond Street nurse, who had held his hand while he was in intensive care.

Overwhelmed Kate got up and hugged Beth partway through the chat to show her appreciation for the nurse's efforts. Kate said: “You cared for Michael and Derek I think, I found out was two beds away.
