The Bubble is the latest comedy with a star studded cast to drop on Netflix.Director Judd Apatow's latest action-comedy film is a satirical production of what it would be like to work on a feature film shut down by coronavirus - something many celebs had to endure.
However, fans took to Twitter to claim that Karen Gillan was the only reason viewers decided to watch the 'mind-numbing' film.
The Bubble was reportedly inspired by the production of Jurassic World: Dominion, which filmed last year in the UK under strict COVID protocols. The film follows Karen Gillan who plays the 'cancelled' actress Carol Cobb whose career is struggling due to backlash from the extremely Caucasian Cobb’s portrayal of a half-Israeli, half-Palestinian woman in a project.Cobb’s agent pressures her to return to the Jurassic Park-esque Cliff Beasts franchise, which she abandoned in part five and reluctantly agrees to sign on for the sixth instalment.Karen was joined by a star-studded supporting cast: Leslie Mann, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Guz Khan, Pedro Pascal, Iris Apatow and a cameo from James McAvoy.Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the Doctor Who actresses latest project. One tweeted: "I’m watching the bubble just cause karen Gillan is in it" " #TheBubble on @netflix is very mind numbing, but I think that was the point since it's a satirical jab towards the showbiz industry.
But, poor pacing tho but I love the idea of the movie, and the performances are great!! Karen Gillan and Pedro Pascal are my favorites in this," another fan tweeted.
