Judi Dench 'overcome' as Strictly star helps her achieve lifetime goal despite failing sight
ok.co.ukThe legendary Dame Judi Dench realised her dream of observing a golden eagle in its natural habitat, despite her battle with a degenerative eye condition that is affecting her sight.
On an emotional segment of BBC's Countryfile last year, the celebrated actress was visibly moved when wildlife cameraman and former Strictly champ Hamza Yassin aided her in spotting the majestic bird.The beloved Philomena actress and the cameraman set out in a vehicle to what was described as a "secret location" in hopes of catching a glimpse of the elusive birds.
It was a successful venture, with Dame Judi managing to view two golden eagles in flight, interacting with a kestrel, through a special monitor.
Overwhelmed by the rare sighting, Judi – who is back on our screens with The Repair Shop's Jay Blades in Dame Judi And Jay: The Odd Couple – expressed: "Oh, yes, I do (see it)...The kestrel's not having too good a time.
