Comedian Jason Manford says he's 'chuffed' to have received a special recognition award for his help during the COVID-19 crisis.

Jason, from Salford, has been recognised for outstanding activity and contributing to the community amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Receiving the The High Sheriff of Greater Manchester Special Recognition Award, he said it was a privilege to 'do his bit' in such testing times.

Jason, 39, is volunteer with Rainbow Haven, a place of welcome, support and opportunity for refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants in Manchester and Salford and the Stockport Volunteer Car Scheme, providing journeys for adults in Stockport who struggle to use public transport.
