"It's absolutely ridiculous": Bolton dad stranded in South Africa tells of chaos as flights cancelled over Covid variant

A dad from Bolton has told how he has been left stranded in South Africa due to the outbreak of a new coronavirus variant. Richard Lace, 40, runs a security firm and flew out to Johannesburg on 21 November on a business trip.

He was due to fly back on Friday at 5pm via Dubai but his flight was cancelled in response to the new Omicron strain of Covid-19 that has been discovered in the country.
