Iraq war families warn they will 'hand back medals' as Tony Blair is knighted

Heartbroken families of soldiers killed during the Iraq war are furious that Tony Blair has been given a knighthood and have said they will hand back their loved ones' medals.

More than 620,000 people have already signed an online petition demanding the former PM be removed from the New Year Honours List, reports the Daily Mirror.

Blair is the longest serving Labour prime minister and was appointed as a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter- the oldest and most senior British Order of Chivalry.
