Inquest opens into death of cyclist killed in horror crash in Gorton

Charles Lewis, known as Charlie, was riding his bike on Hyde Road in Gorton on June 2 when he was hit by a black Saab at around 1.45am.

The 56-year-old was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary in critical condition but despite desperate attempts to save his life, he died.
