I’m A Celeb fans left surprised over Sam Thompson’s real name as he’s crowned 2023 winner
ok.co.ukI'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Sam Thompson was crowned the winner of this year's series to massive cheers, but some fans were distracted when his real name was revealed as a result.
Sam, 31, became known for reality TV hit Made in Chelsea, a series known for its ultra posh cast, many of whom are from upper-middle class backgrounds.
And in true Chelsea fashion, Sam, who has talked about sending a "secret message" to girlfriend Zara McDermott in the jungle, also has a fancy name.
While it wasn't exactly a secret, TV journalist Liam Hamilton revealed it after the show's live final.Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to join in on congratulating the King of the Jungle, he said: "Sam Thompson - aka 'Samuel Robert De Courcy Thompson', yes really! - crowned King of the Jungle in front of 7.5m viewers." Taken-aback by the news, many viewers had had no idea of Sam's unusual moniker, and they took to the comments. "Samuel Robert De Courcy Thompson has the right sort of name to make something of himself," one fan joked.
