Moses Sumney has unveiled details of a new concert film before announcing his break from music.Sumney was this week revealed to be part of The Weeknd’s upcoming HBO series The Idol and has now today (August 25) unveiled a new concert film called A Performance In V Acts that covers his gig at the Ford Theater in Los Angeles on October 31. After that, he also announced his upcoming break from music.He said in a statement that the new concert film “marks the official end of the græ album cycle.”He continued: “It’s a capsule of our headline show since we will not be touring the album after all,” he wrote. “This film also ushers in a new period of creativity for me – one in which I take a continued break from making albums and touring music to focus on other disciplines.”The film will be released on August 31 and you can see a clip of him from the film performing ‘Doomed’ and his cover of Björk’s ‘Come to Me’ here:Earlier this week, HBO released the second teaser for The Idol, the upcoming drama series created by “the sick and twisted minds of” The Weeknd and Euphoria helmer Sam Levinson.It was confirmed some time ago that the main cast will feature Troye Sivan, Debby Ryan and Hari Nef, while the recurring cast will include Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio and Tyson Ritter of The All-American Rejects.In the latest teaser, we learn that other actors and artists set to appear.

After a season of plenty of animosity between aging comedy legend Deborah Vance (played by Jean Smart), and Einbinder’s character, the young writer Ava, it seemed like the season ended with everything wrapped up neatly. A little too neatly, at first, for Einbinder. “I was very scared. I thought that I was going to be fired,” she tells Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast. “I was going through all of the panicky fear things. It’s kind of insane in retrospect, but I think I was a little too close to the case. Like, it really, really, really upset me. I was crying for a couple hours.”

While veteran producer Dan Lin is in contention for the top job overseeing DC’s film and TV adaptations for Warner Bros. Discovery, Variety has confirmed that no offer has been made to Lin, and several hurdles stand in the way of any deal moving forward. The biggest hurdle is Lin’s production company, Rideback, which has ties to several other studios, including a first-look deal from January 2021 with Universal Pictures, and development on several features for Disney, including a live-action version of “Lilo & Stitch.” Were Lin to decamp to Warner Bros. Discovery to run DC, his involvement with those productions would need to be sorted, if not severed outright.

Mariska Hargitay, who is both the star and an executive producer on the Dick Wolf drama, as well as at least one other producer pushed to keep Giddish on the procedural, but the decision had already been made. Additionally, salary negotiations and her future on the show were part of the conversation and, ultimately, a compromise couldn’t be made.

Clayton Davis Apple’s hughly anticipated “Killers of the Flower Moon” from Martin Scorsese won’t be coming this Oscar season. The Western drama, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Plemons, will instead be released in its originally intended 2023 calendar year.Written by Eric Roth and adapted from the best-selling novel “Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI” by David Grann, the film had been originally slated for 2023 by Apple.
