forecasters warn that 100mm of rain could fall in some parts of the country. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has handed out alerts to Aberdeenshire, Dundee and Angus, Tayside and Orkney over the course of Friday.
It follows an overnight drenching from heavy rain showers, which fell on most north eastern parts of Scotland during the early hours of Friday morning.The Met Office says that as much as 100mm of rain could fall on some parts of the country by the time a 33-hour yellow weather warning ends at midday on Saturday.
Rail services between Aberdeen and Inverness have been impacted by the adverse conditions due to flooding on the track at Forres and Elgin.
