Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.A banned driver twice gave police the slip after high speed chases in built-up areas of Hamilton.James Baillie was finally arrested when officers went to his flat looking for drugs.Baillie, 25, of Campbell Street, was jailed for 18 months and banned from driving for four years at Hamilton Sheriff Court.He admitted twice driving dangerously while disqualified, threatening or abusive behaviour, possession of heroin and police assault.Neil Thomson, prosecuting, said police officers spotted Baillie behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Polo in Millgate Road at 3.30pm on August 3.They knew he was disqualified and followed him.Baillie, who had four male passengers.
