Health bosses close two minor injury units at Lanarkshire hospitals during pandemic

The minor injury units at Kello and Lady Home hospitals in South Lanarkshire have been temporarily closed.South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership, in discussion with NHS Lanarkshire, made the decision to minimise the risk of contracting Covid-19 to the patients at the facilities in Biggar and Douglas respectively.The minor injury units will remain closed for the duration of the current pandemic.This will be reviewed in line with the wider review of current restrictions, with a view to having the service re-established at the earliest opportunity.Craig Cunningham, head of commissioning and performance fo South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “Temporarily closing a service is not a decision that we take
