Grand Designs faces backlash after viewers deem £2.5m home 'sickening'

Grand designs returned to the Channel 4 last night - but was quickly hit with complaints from viewers left appalled by the amount of money spent on the Devon project.

The episode followed presenter Kevin McCloud as he visited property and supercar investor Joe and Claire Priday, who were attempting to make their futuristic build a reality, Birmingham Live reports.

Named Hux Shard, the ultra mordern residence covers 6,000 sq ft standing a 7 feet tall and is eco-friendly, powered by the sun and air.

It also boasts a gym, cinema room and a study for the couple's kids alongside a huge open plan kitchen and living space.However, viewers were less than impressed after the "sickening" price of the project was revealed - with £125,000 spent on the.
