Gogglebox fans had plenty of praise for Mica Ven following her criticism of the Homes for Ukraine scheme. Mica Ven and her partner Marcus Luther are favourites on the Channel 4 reality show and often have viewers in stitches at their antics.
However, things took a more sombre turn during last night’s episode when Mica voiced her opinion on the government’s new scheme to help refugees, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, When turning over to a BBC News segment, Mica discussed the new government scheme with Marcus.
She said: "Not being funny, this isn't the first refugee situation, you know what I mean? How come only now there's incentives to encourage people to help refugees?" One account wrote: "Mica talking truth there!" While another added: "Good on Mica for calling out the hypocrisy regarding refugees." A third wrote: "Mica speaking sense." The government launched its Homes for Ukraine website earlier this week, which allows those who want to host a refugee to sign-up, with 100,000 people reported to have put their name forward on the first day.
