Gary Neville has backed Anthony Martial's desire to leave Manchester United with the former defender saying that the "time is right" for the 26-year-old to leave.
After starring for the Reds in the 2019-20 season, where he finished as the club's top goalscorer, the Frenchman has failed to make an impact amid an increase in competition for United's forward places.
As a result, on Friday afternoon, Martial's agent Philippe Lamboley publicly declared his client's intent to depart Old Trafford in January.
He featured in Michael Carrick's final game in caretaker charge in the 3-2 win over Arsenal but suffered a knee injury and missed the win over Crystal Palace and the draw with Young Boys.
