A homeless man begged for help after fearing hypothermia as he was left on a cold, wet Glasgow street. The rough sleeper complained he ‘couldn’t feel his face’ as his temperature dropped over the weekend in the city.

The Homeless Project Scotland stepped in to help the man find shelter as he ‘couldn’t wait’ for the council to respond after waiting more than an hour.

The charity teamed up with Glasgow Street Aid who assessed the man and confirmed he needed urgent help as his ‘temperature was very low’.Now Homeless Project Scotland are calling on more help from councils to tackle the issue as they helped accommodate seven rough sleepers on Saturday night. It comes after they blasted Glasgow council bosses last week over 'shocking' pictures showing people sleeping rough on the steps of the authority's chambers.

The photographs show a man huddled in a sleeping bag outside the council's ornate headquarters on George Square earlier this month.
