The cost of living crisis continues to worsen, as prices are raising at their fastest rate in 30 years. Inflation rates can be seen almost in everything, but place you may not expect to see it is in the price of a Freddo bar - the classic Cadburys chocolate snack.

When the Freddo was relaunched back in the 1990s, the treat sold for as low as 10p in shops all over the nation, and that price didn't budge until 2005.However, by 2015 the bar's price already reached an average of 25p and to 30p by 2017.

And now one secret shopper has discovered that some shops are charging almost double that. The average price of a Freddo in 2022 stands at 30p – a whopping 200% increase on the 1990s figure, reports The Echo, but some shops are selling them at much higher prices.
