Four more coronavirus deaths announced at Salford Royal Hospital as Covid-19 infections rise above 100

The number of coronavirus patients to die at Salford Royal Hospital has reached 23 with four more deaths announced today. The latest update this afternoon means that ten deaths have been confirmed at the hospital in the last three days.

Public Health England also revealed that the number of people testing positive for coronavirus in Salford has now gone over 100.

A total of 104 cases have been confirmed in the borough - an increase of 12 cases since yesterday. Across Greater Manchester a total of 78 people have now died in hospital after they tested positive for Covid-19.
