Four arrested with cannabis and machete after early hours chase from across Greater Manchester

Four people were arrested in the early hours of this morning after an extensive police chase. Police say an aggravated burglary took place in Leigh some time before 5.45am before those allegedly involved were spotted driving a Nissan Primera car.

This was followed from Leigh into Salford where more patrols joined the pursuit along with police dogs. A 'large quantity' of cannabis was then found in the car as well as a machete. The driver was caught by the dog patrol, according to police, with all four drivers arrested.

A GMP Traffic spokesman said: "Following an aggravated burglary in Leigh, the offending Nissan Primera was pursued by patrols from Leigh into Salford where other patrols took up pursuit.
