Former Man United defender Chris Smalling issues statement after armed robbery in Rome

The robbery took place at the former Manchester United defender's home in the South of Rome, with watches and jewellery being stolen.

Three armed men forced Smalling to hand the items over before they left the house. Police are investigating the incident after being called to the house at 5am.
