Fly-tippers are dumping piles of rubbish at Mocha Parade in Salford up to three times a week, it has been claimed. Images show waste bags piled high at the forgotten shopping mall.

James Small, who lives nearby, claimed there has been a spike in fly-tipping incidents following the closure of tips and recycling centres amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Litterbugs, he says, are usually spotted between 9pm and 3am and often use vans. Mr Small, 28, said: “They park at the front and because it’s night and it’s not lit, they unload everything and drive off and leave it.  “There are only four of the units being used by shops, so they’re dumping it in the gardens and sheds.  “I was sat in my living room and a van pulled up and two lads jumped out
