Bernie Sander
Bernard Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is an American politician who has served as the junior United States Senator from Vermont since 2007 and as U.S. Representative for the state's at-large congressional district from 1991 to 2007. He is the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, although he has a close relationship with the Democratic Party, having caucused with House and Senate Democrats for most of his congressional career. Sanders unsuccessfully sought the Democratic Party nomination for president of the United States in 2016 and 2020.

Flavor Flav has responded to being fired from longtime group Public Enemy yesterday. “Are you kidding me right now...over Bernie Sanders,” the rapper tweeted at Chuck today (March 2).

Flav added: “You wanna destroy something we’ve built over 35 years OVER POLITICS??? all because I don’t wanna endorse a candidate...I’m very disappointed in you and your decisions right now Chuck.” He continued: “I’m not your employee, I’m your partner.

You can’t fire me. There is no Public Enemy without Flavor Flav.” Find his full remarks below. Public Enemy subsequently released a statement clarifying that the Sanders rally wasn’t the reason for his dismissal. “Public Enemy did not part ways with Flavor Flav over his political views,” the statement reads.

Public Enemy Radio — a subsidiary of Public Enemy featuring only Chuck D — were scheduled to perform at a Bernie Sanders rally in California on Sunday, ahead of this week’s Super Tuesday Democratic primaries. Shortly after the performance was announced, though, founding Public Enemy member Flavor Flav issued a cease and desist to Sanders’ campaign, complaining that he had not authorized for the Sanders campaign to use his likeness. “While Chuck is certainly free to express his political views as he sees fit, his voice alone does not speak for Public Enemy,” he wrote in a statement. “Those who truly know what Public Enemy stands for know what time it is, there is no Public Enemy without Flavor Flav.”
