Brad Little and went into effect on July 1.In response to the law’s passage, two athletes, Lindsay Hecox, a female transgender athlete seeking to compete in women’s cross country for Boise State University next year, and Jane Doe, a 17-year-old high school junior who wishes to play for the girls’ soccer team, sued to block it from taking effect, alleging that the law is discriminatory and infringes on their right to equal protection.Doe has also argued that the law violates her privacy by potentially forcing her to be subjected to invasive medical testing to “prove” her female identity should she be accused of being transgender.
