family of a man who died two years after suffering life changing injuries in a one punch assault embraced their son's attacker as he was sentenced in court.

Aidan Coyle, 48, of McGurk’s Villa, Gulafuff, Co Derry pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to Micheál O’Neill and was handed a three year suspended sentence.

Dt Sgt Kevin Long said that the 32-year-old victim was in De Barra’s on Pearse Street in Clonakilty, West Cork on the evening of March 10 2017, as reported by Cork Beo.

At one point he stood up on a stool to get a better view of the musician playing, but was swiftly told by security to get down.
