It's one of the region's biggest festive events, but families have been told that Winter Wonderland Manchester won't be happening this Christmas.

Following a four-year break, the much-loved festive extravaganza returned to EventCity, close to The Trafford Centre, last year, much to the delight of visitors young and old.

The venue had been playing host to the similar-named Winter Funland, run by the team behind the Geronimo family festival, but Kingpin Events managed to secure a contract at the site, bringing back its original Silcock's Winter Wonderland. In a message on the Winter Wonderland website, Tammy Silcock, CEO of Kingpin Events, says: "Kingpin Events regret to inform all their customers that we are unable to return with Silcock's Winter Wonderland Manchester at EventCity this year. "We will keep you updated regarding future events here and on our social channels." Winter Wonderland transformed the indoor 22,000 sq m exhibition space into 'an unbelievable and magical winter wonderland', featuring more than 50 family rides and attractions including dodgems, roller coasters, waltzers and lots more.
