dailyrecord.co.ukGet the latest top news stories sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletterA scheme to create a striking lookout tower and platforms above Trossachs Pier was given the green light this week.Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park approved the Steamship Sir Walter Scott’s plans by the Loch Katrine harbour after a three-and-a-half-hour meeting and site visit by members of the park authority’s planning committee earlier this week.The reinstatement of the Roderick Dhu path, named after an early 18th century associate of Rob Roy, is also part of the project.The site is the spot where Sir Walter Scott was inspired to write his Lady of the Lake poem which is credited with triggering the birth of Scottish tourism.Steamship trust chief.
