David Martindale is still looking for one more attacking player to complete his Livingston squad, as he prepares for the Premier Sports Cup group stages.Martindale is running the rule over former Rangers winger Dapo Mebude, who played in Saturday’s 2-1 friendly defeat at Motherwell, but says the 22-year-old is “four weeks behind” the rest of his squad. That’s no slight on a player who was left in a critical condition following a horror car crash in Belgium in January, and Martindale says at the moment he’s offering training facilities for the London-born ex-AFC Wimbledon forward.Mebude was the only actual trialist in a squad at Fir Park that featured eight, due to the SFA’s new player registration system.Martindale said: “I’m one away, we need two or three moved on, but we’re definitely one away from where I want to be.“I would say the squad is 95 per cent complete, barring anybody making an offer for any of our players, but we’re 95 per cent of the way there.“We’re looking to bring one more offensive player in, but I think we’re ahead of the process, where I thought we would be, in all honesty.“A lot of those players [trialists] are signed, there was only one real trialist on the park, because of the new SFA system.“Daps asked to come in and use the training facilities and I would help anybody out, so he chapped our door, so to speak.“His fitness levels are not great, but the boy was involved in a serious car accident in January, so I don’t think he’s done a lot, and he’s had to watch his health, coming back into football.“He has probably ear-marked pre-season to really hit the ground running, try and get his fitness back.“I don’t think he’s done a lot.
