Manchester United are finalising the appointment of Erik ten Hag as their next manager, according to a report.The Ajax boss has been among the Old Trafford club's top targets to become the permanent successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.Ralf Rangnick took interim charge until the end of the season while the club took their time over making an appointment.
Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui were also on a four-man shortlist, with the likes of Bayern Munich boss Julien Nagelsmann and Chelsea 's Thomas Tuchel ruled as "unattainable".
But ESPN report United have "settled" on Ten Hag and will now move formalise the move with the 52-year-old Dutchman ready to leave Ajax for the Premier League.
It's claimed the club's top bosses were unanimous in their opinion that Ten Hag was the best man for the job.Former United assistants Steve McLaren and Rene Meulensteen have been linked with returns as the potential new manager's assistants in the dugout.
