Emergency services race to late night fire at Scots flats as residents evacuated
dailyrecord.co.ukEmergency services have raced to a fire at a set of Scots flats this evening.Fire crews scrambled to Bellfield Court in Musselburgh after the alarm was raised at around 8.45pm on Wednesday, April 20.
Residents were evacuated onto the street after the blaze took took hold as firefighters descended onto the street.Mercy crews were still at the scene battling the flames late on Wednesday night.
It's understood officers from Police Scotland as well as ambulance crews are also in attendance. One local told Edinburgh Live : “It looked like quite a big one, I hope everyone got out ok. “I could see a big group of people standing outside, so it looked like everyone got out safe.“We could see it a little bit in the stairs, but the firefighters were there pretty quickly.”A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said there were no reports of any injuries as a result of the incident.They added: “We received a call at 20:43 on Wednesday, April 20, to a house fire in Bellfield Court.“Three appliances were dispatched to the scene.“We remain in attendance at this time.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
