Despite the announcement that Holby City will shortly be cancelled, the BBC medical drama is set to prove that it still has plenty of life left in it.
This week, the hit show is welcoming Davood Ghadami to the cast – and the actor hasn't ruled out a hospital romance for his new (already married!) character Eli Ebrahimi.
Soap fans were heartbroken when EastEnders favourite Kush Kazemi was brutally murdered, but the blow was softened by the news that Davood would be back on our screens as Holby’s new cardiothoracic surgeon. “It felt like the Holby door was opening just as the EastEnders door was closing behind me,” Davood explained. “I didn’t have to go back into that world of auditioning, so the crossover was very welcome,” he added.
