East Kilbride corner shop has liquor licence suspended after under-agers caught with booze

East Kilbride off-licence has had its knuckles rapped for allegedly selling booze to under-agers. Premier Store in Calderwood Square had their liquor licence suspended for one week after a hearing at the East Kilbride and District Licensing Board.It is alleged that during checks by police youngsters were caught with booze purchased from the store.The bust follows an upsurge in anti-social behaviour and underage drinking recently in the area in and around Calderglen Country Park.During lockdown all the emergency services descended on Inch Keith near to the park to break up at least 130 youths.A massive haul of booze was also uncovered.And local councillor Gladys Miller hopes the ruling of the licensing board in regards to the Premier Store.
