DWP confirms major alteration to Universal Credit payments over Christmas

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed payment dates will be changing for all Universal Credit recipients over the Christmas period this year.

As Christmas Day falls on a weekend, people will not get their money as usual. Universal Credit payments are usually paid monthly and according to the UK Government's website, if a payment date falls on a bank holiday - including Christmas - then claimants will receive the money earlier.
