Dove Cameron won at the VMAs and she used her speech for good! The 26-year-old singer and actress won the award for Best New Artist at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (August 28) at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Dove has made a huge splash on the music scene with her song “Boyfriend,” which reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100, and her new song “Breakfast.” She performed them both during the VMAs pre-show earlier in the night. For those who don’t know, she came out as bisexual a few years ago. “I wanted to dedicate this to all the queer kids out there, who don’t feel that they can take up space and inhabit the fullness of who they are.
