Doctor Who fans that tuned in on Halloween for the highly-anticipated first episode of the 13th series were left severely disappointed.

Doctor Who returned to the BBC on Sunday night for the first episode of Jodie Whittaker’s last series titled, Doctor Who Flux.

Fans had been waiting since March 2020 for a new series, but were left unimpressed at the special effects in the first instalment, 'The Halloween Apocalypse', with one user even suggesting the CGI was “better ten years ago.” The action-packed episode opened to Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor hanging upside down on a gravity board with her loyal companion, Yaz or Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill).
