Desperate search to trace missing man, 75, enters second week as mountain rescue teams join search party

Police are re-appealing for information to try and trace a pensioner who has been missing for more than a week.Officers are desperately looking to trace 75-year-old William Hogg who was last seen getting off of a bus in Callander.Mr Hogg left his home in Falkirk early on Wednesday, October 5, and failed to return.

The last sighting of him was as he got off a bus at the bus stop at Ancaster Square, in Main Street, at 12.46pm that same day.Volunteers from two mountain rescue teams have been drafted in to assist with the desperate search in and around the town.Around half a dozen members from Killin Mountain Rescue Team were out searching areas around the town, including Callander Crags and out towards Kilmahog, on Friday, Saturday and TuesdayVolunteers from Lomond Mountain Rescue Team joined the search party on Tuesday also.Click here for more news and sport from the Stirling area.Despite the large scale search mission, Mr Hogg remains missing.He is described as being around 5 feet 6 inches, has a muscular build, grey hair and a moustache.

He has tattoos on each forearm and wears glasses.He was last seen wearing a navy-coloured bomber jacket, jeans and black and white trainers.Inspector Alasdair Moreland, of Stirling Police Station, said: “Officers are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries in Callander and the surrounding area and are reviewing CCTV as part of enquiries.“We would urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to please contact us or ask anyone with dash-cam footage, who has been driving in the Callander area please review it and get in touch with us if you think you’ve captured anything relevant.”Anyone who may have seen Mr Hogg is being urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference
