Deer rescue from frozen Scots canal ends in tragedy as animal dies despite being freed

Cumbernauld earlier today.The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish SPCA managed to remove the animal just after midday.However, the roe deer sadly passed away a short time later.Eye-witness Frank Urban caught the moment the animal was pulled into the boat on film.The clip shows the fire service carefully manoeuvring towards the creature in a rubber dinghy type boat.They throw a blanket over the deer and managed to bundle it aboard before being pulled back to safety.Despite their efforts, the deer later died due to the stress of the ordeal.Frank explained: “They were able to quickly rescue the deer from the canal, but sadly it passed away soon afterwards.“It would have been a great feel good moment but after the initial elation of.
